About The Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented level 2 Systems Engineer-IT with a Secret clearance to work from our Boulder, CO location. SBIRS and the Next‑Gen GEO OPIR ground stations form the backbone of the United States’ missile‑warning architecture. By delivering near‑real‑time, high‑confidence detection of ballistic missile launches and other hostile trajectories, these systems provide life‑saving early warning for the warfighter, enable rapid decision‑making, and support cueing of defensive interceptors and command‑and‑control assets. Your work will directly protect troops, allies, and critical infrastructure worldwide. This is an EMERGING PROFESSIONAL (level 2) ROLE where candidates typically require 1+ years of professional experience and a BS degree. Requirements

  • Security+ Certification
  • Experience with both Linux and Windows system administration, including installing, patching, troubleshooting and hardening Linux and Windows operating systems (both bare-metal and virtual machines)
  • Experience with System Security Implementations.
  • Active Secret clearance is required prior to start and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
  • 1+ years of professional experience
  • BS degree

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in working with OpenShift and containers
  • Proficiency in working with AWS Cloud components and services
  • Proficiency in cyber security and Splunk
  • Configuration and management of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices
  • Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management
  • Understanding of server hardware, storage systems, and backup solutions
  • Experience with operational ground systems
  • Be a team player and work in a collaborative team environment
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, mission-focused environment
  • Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
  • Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
  • Have experience with both Linux and Windows system administration, including installing, patching, troubleshooting and hardening Linux and Windows operating systems (both bare-metal and virtual machines)
  • Have experience with System Security Implementations.
  • Interact with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
