About The Position

Itron is seeking a Systems Engineer Intern for Spring 2027. The intern will support senior engineers with software application development and enhancements, including writing, reviewing, and debugging code. The role offers opportunities to learn new skills and technologies through project work and to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders toward individual, team, and company goals. With manager support, the intern may coordinate and lead meetings. The position requires approximately 25 hours per week and onsite work at Itron’s West Union location during the spring term of 2027.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a related degree program; Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Intermediate programming abilities in object-oriented languages such as C#, Java, or Python.
• Knowledge of SQL databases.
• Experience with Git or a related version control system.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with coworkers to share knowledge as part of a team.
• Ability to manage time independently and prioritize tasks.
• Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to take ownership of challenges and follow through to resolution.
• Openness to feedback and coaching to improve skills.
• Professional oral and written communication skills.
• Availability to work approximately 25 hours per week during the Spring 2027 term.
• Ability to work onsite at Itron’s West Union location.
