About The Position

This internship offers an opportunity to combine technical skills with big-picture thinking to make an impact. The intern will understand the customer's environment and develop the right systems for their mission. The role involves translating real-world needs into technical specifications, making the intern an integral part of delivering a customer-focused engineering solution. This position is more than just coding; it requires using passion to learn new tools and techniques and identify needed system improvements. Utilizing a variety of languages, rapid prototyping, and Agile software development, the intern will work with the development team to develop and deploy software for both internal and client-facing projects across a variety of technologies and platforms. The intern will analyze needs and the environment to help ensure the solution considers the current architecture, operating environment, and future functionality and enhancements. This position is located in Fayetteville, NC. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Requirements

  • Experience with programming languages, including .NET, C++, JavaScript, Java, or Python, in a professional, academic, or internship work environment.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices.
  • Ability to learn new languages and frameworks.
  • Ability to work in groups.
  • Scheduled to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Cyber Security by Spring 2028.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with virtualization and containerization.
  • Experience creating scripts for automation.
  • Experience working with or in the DOW.
  • Knowledge of Agile scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Model and Simulation technologies.
