About The Position

Astronics Connectivity Systems & Certification (Astronics CSC) designs, engineers, manufactures and certifies reliable digital in-flight entertainment and cabin management systems (IFE/CMS) for the corporate, private and VIP aircraft industry. Our custom digital applications have been installed and commissioned on a wide range of VIP/VVIP narrowbody and widebody platforms in addition to numerous private and utility jet, turboprop, and helicopter models. Astronics CSC is a world leader in designing and integrating custom digital IFE/CMS systems. Our product line covers every facet of in-flight entertainment and cabin management control including: entertainment, lighting, call, temperature, audio/video on demand, tablet integration, real-time 3-D moving map, and much more. We also offer customized graphical user interfaces accessible on our touchscreens, allowing seamless and intuitive control of the IFE/CMS system. While this role is primarily onsite at our Kent office, we offer flexible work day start and end times, and additional options to help you maintain work life balance - choose between five-8 hour days or four-9 hour days with a half day Friday. Summary Systems design, configuration and test of applications for In-Flight-Entertainment/Information systems and equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical program; or Associate’s degree with relevant experience.
• 5+ years’ experience.
• Deep Knowledge of one or more C#, C++. Python
• Deep knowledge of one or more OS – Linux, Android, iOS, Windows
• Experience working on complex network-based software projects.
• Working knowledge of Networking protocols HTTP, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, UDP, L2, L3, switching and routing
• Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced multi-disciplined environment with quickly changing priorities and requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management or clients.
• Excellent problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of C++/object-oriented programs, SQL, web application development, security and open-source technologies
• Android platform development experience
• iOS application development experience

Responsibilities

• Configure systems functions for aircraft
• Develop interfaces and code to control embedded systems that interface to GUIs
• Develop, test and deploy programs and applications
• Troubleshoot, debug, maintain and improve existing systems
• Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses
• Provide support for systems integration of new product development
• Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives
• Assists other areas to develop and maintain timeliness of projects
• Support customers remotely and on site with issues found on aircraft
