About The Position

The System Design & Architecture (SD&A) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within RMD, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE). The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Department supports Raytheon by providing world class technical expertise and engineering leadership to drive the design and development of world-class Air and Missile Defense Systems, Sensors, and Effectors. This department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drives the development of complex systems to support Raytheon's Land Warfare and Air Defense (LWAD) mission areas from our McKinney, TX location. Systems Engineers within this department solve technical challenges at the System of System (SoS), System, Subsystem, and Component levels. Key technical domains include: Architecture, Requirements, Interface Definition, Radar Systems, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, and Battlespace Integration and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers. You will perform analysis's, architecture and design at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with tools such as DOORS, MATLAB, C++, and Python
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional analysis's, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Provide analysis's for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and develops verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total system solutions.
