About The Position

This position is for an RTX intern converting to FT hire upon graduation. It offers an opportunity to explore the world of aerospace and defense, learn from industry leaders, and work on complex problems to advance skills and create a safer, more connected world. The role involves contributing to transformation initiatives, collaborating with various engineering leaders, supporting system-level analysis and early concept development, assisting programs with technology deployment, and participating in the development and improvement of enterprise-wide processes and digital engineering workflows. Travel may be required to support testing, technical reviews, and collaboration events across engineering sites and facilities. After comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will support Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities across the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date.
  • Experience in software development and automation using Python, MATLAB, and related tools to build solutions for system modeling, analysis, and data processing, including applications in AI/ML workflows. Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience collaborating with matrixed technical roles such as discipline leaders, Lead Systems Engineers (LSEs), Test Architects (TAs), and Chief Technologists across the Technology Pyramid.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation activities such as MBSE, AI/ML-enabled workflows, or automated engineering processes.
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to transformation initiatives such as Digital Test Strategy, AI/ML, Test Driven Multidisciplinary Capability, and TestForward to enhance engineering execution.
  • Collaborate with Discipline leaders, Lead Systems Engineers (LSEs), Test Architects (TAs), and Chief Technologists across the Technology Pyramid.
  • Support system-level analysis, trade studies, modeling efforts, and early concept development tied to technology strategy.
  • Assist programs with technology deployment, training, and new use case development.
  • Participate in developing, improving, and deploying enterprise-wide processes, tools, methods, and digital engineering workflows.
  • Travel as required to support testing, technical reviews, collaboration events, or program activities across engineering sites and facilities.
