About The Position

Under moderate supervision and technical guidance, responsible for design, implementation, and engineering support for technology solutions with a focus on vulnerability remediation of cloud resources, servers, and workstations. Possess a broad range of technical skills and experience with enterprise-class services. Works with a team of technical staff within the WashU IT organization to ensure that services stay aligned with university initiatives that include research, teaching, patient care, and administrative objectives. This position will focus on reviewing security alerts in our "Orca Security" and "Tenable" platforms and coordinating with cloud subscription and system owners to remediate vulnerabilities, risky configurations, and other information security issues.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Relevant Experience (2 Years)
  • No specific certification/professional license is required for this position.
  • A driver's license is not required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Performs research, analyzes technology, consults vendors and applies best practices to design technical solutions by utilizing systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications. Typically related to existing system enhancements or new implementations of lesser scale.
  • Validates, tests and implements new products and services.
  • Responds to and resolves incidents escalated from operational teams and performance tuning requests utilizing critical thinking skills.
  • Creates and maintains design documentation related to services, solutions and interfaces.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Reviewing security alerts in our "Orca Security" and "Tenable" platforms and coordinating with cloud subscription and system owners to remediate vulnerabilities, risky configurations, and other information security issues.
