About The Position

The IT Endpoint Systems Engineer is an innovative problem solver responsible for the expert-level administration of the college’s endpoint ecosystem. This role focuses on designing and automating complex endpoint lifecycles using SCCM, JAMF, and Entra/Azure ID to support the evolving needs of our community. The ideal candidate is a specialist in Apple and Windows deployment and enterprise print management, ensuring mission-critical user environments are optimized, secure, and accessible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, or related field AND five (5) years of professional systems support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft SCCM and JAMF Pro for large-scale enterprise environments
  • In-depth knowledge of Entra (Azure AD), including user management, group policies, and cloud-based security
  • Specialized expertise in Apple hardware (Mac, iPad, iPhone) and the macOS/iOS operating systems
  • Advanced experience managing enterprise print solutions, specifically Papercut MF/NG
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell or similar languages for system administration, reporting, and automation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and modern desktop management practices
  • Proven expertise in the management, security, and maintenance of Windows Server environments specifically hosting mission-critical endpoint and print management platforms (such as SCCM, JAMF, and Papercut)
  • Understanding of LAN principles specifically as they pertain to the security and deployment of computer and printer endpoints

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant professional certifications, such as JAMF Certified Admin, Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, or Apple Certified Support Professional
  • Previous experience in Higher Education managing diverse student and faculty endpoint needs
  • Expertise in Papercut administration and print server optimization

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated OS deployment and software packaging using Microsoft SCCM and JAMF Pro for both Windows and Apple environments
  • Serve with Identity Access Team in Entra ID (Azure AD), managing cloud-based identity, conditional access, and integration within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
  • Architect and manage the college’s enterprise print environment, specifically leveraging Papercut to ensure secure, efficient, and audited print services across all campuses
  • Act as the subject matter expert for all Apple hardware and iOS/macOS management, ensuring seamless integration and configuration via JAMF
  • Craft advanced PowerShell and Shell scripts to automate routine endpoint tasks, reducing manual intervention and improving system analytics
  • Configure and manage specialized monitoring systems for computer and printer endpoints to identify issues and implement proactive solutions
  • Maintain the health, security, and performance of server environments hosting critical endpoint management systems, including SCCM, JAMF, and Papercut; perform regular OS patching, software version upgrades, and performance tuning to ensure 100% service availability
  • Ensure all endpoints remain compliant with security policies through rigorous patching processes via SCCM, Intune, and JAMF
  • Create and maintain high-level documentation for endpoint configurations, print workflows, and deployment procedures to empower junior IT staff
