About The Position

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. This position involves work that has a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. The role is focused on assisting the US Space Force in developing and deploying the next generation of satellites and ground systems for Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) contract. The Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team needs a Systems Engineer with experience in applying Model Based Systems Engineering tools and techniques for Department of Defense (DoD) space-based systems. The candidate will provide systems engineering and integration expertise in support of the Space Systems Command (SSC) PNT programs. This includes supporting requirements development and management activities such as requirements traceability analysis, change impact analysis, technical baseline integration, verification planning and execution, concepts of operations (CONOPS), and risk management of mission capabilities. Experience with system acquisition, systems engineering lifecycle, architecture, operations concepts, requirements, and interface development and maturation for space and ground systems is also relevant.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
2+ years’ experience in digital systems design and integration.
Proven experience in systems architecture development within Defense or regulated environments.
Strong proficiency in MBSE methodologies and tools (SysML, UML).
Active SECRET clearance

Nice To Haves

Masters Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience in innovation, capability development, and Agile/SAFe frameworks.
Familiarity with DevOps, coding languages (Python, JavaScript), and secure systems design.

Responsibilities

Planning and executing MBSE model development to support architecture development and digital engineering initiatives in support of program milestones
Applying MBSE tools and techniques to capture system functions, services, interfaces, requirements, and concept of operations to support system design
Supporting requirements analysis and functional allocation to hardware, software, operator and other segments and components of the system(s) within the models
Production of model views, including DoDAF products, to support program milestones and documentation
Enable the generation of systems engineering documentation for requirements, ICDs, systems design, CONOPS, verification and test
Supporting analysis activities utilizing MBSE models and tools such as Cameo
Supporting development of study plans for architecture development and special trade studies
Collaborating with prime contractors, other team contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Space Force.
