About The Position

Semper Valens Solutions is looking for a Systems Engineer/Configuration Analyst to join our systems engineering team responsible for changes to documentation, technical drawings, technical drawing organization, physical configuration audits (PCA), and part and drawing analysis. The Configuration Analyst will follow processes and work with other engineering teams to deliver exceptional products to the Army customer. The successful candidate will draw upon previous experience and will work with the entire systems engineering team to provide consistent high-quality support and timely response to system and obsolescence issues. The ideal candidate must be able to work within a high-performing team with little oversight throughout the systems engineering and product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience (additional years of relevant experience may be applied in lieu of degree)
  • Must have an active DoD SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one within six (6) months from start date
  • Effective communications skills are required
  • Relevant and related military/government experience performing IT configuration management support is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Windchill, ePDM, or other PDM/PLM tools and processes
  • Experience working on teams of five or more people to achieve team goals and objectives
  • Experience conducting Physical Configuration Audits and reconciling physical products to engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of the processes and procedures related to configuration management and product lifecycle management within DoD Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of the function of and ability to use Product Lifecycle Management Tools
  • Knowledge of the organization's products and services, customer requirements, purpose and structure of required documentation, and end user's level of understanding are highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Configuration Management lead within the Systems Engineering branch with a primary focus on Physical Configuration Audits and Obsolescence.
  • Be an integral point within the change management process and engineering change proposals for all Urgent Capability Acquisition programs assigned to IBD-SS.
  • Process changes to organize an existing body of knowledge using a Product Data Management tool.
  • Perform Knowledge Management and integrate documentation and processes into a PDM tool.
  • Identify and coordinate processes for version management, system build, backup and recovery, archiving, and change management.
  • Work with the configuration manager to monitor and control change review processes.
  • Support and facilitate auditing and reporting.
  • Assist in documenting baseline configurations for applications, software, and hardware assets.
  • Evaluate, update, and maintain PdM FPS product configuration documentation and architecture libraries, and processes necessary for management support, and reporting of UCA statuses to the Government customer.
  • Review technical documentation for the project's hardware and software to include installation, configuration and how-to documentation.
  • Document requirements to update configuration data management processes and procedures for use throughout the PdM FPS program.
  • Work closely with other systems engineers to develop and review documents for Business Processes, Requirements Analysis, Configuration Management, Technical Risk, and Engineering Change Reports in accordance with customer specifications.
