About The Position

This position provides system engineering services and support to the HPC CAPABILITIES program within the HPC System Design & Engineering organization. The role involves supporting the team's efforts to develop and maintain the architectural direction and methods of HPC systems, including compute, memory, interconnect, network, and storage architectures, to meet current and future mission requirements. The Systems Engineer will support the development, test, and integration of commercial and custom HPC computing solutions and provide rigorous end-to-end systems engineering services throughout the entire HPC development and acquisition life cycle. The role requires analyzing user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications, and leading design and development activities. The engineer will guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, conduct feasibility studies, and provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Responsibilities also include incorporating new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations, developing technical documentation, and system architecture and design documentation. The role involves guiding system development and implementation planning, assessing or preparing system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans, and interacting with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts. The Systems Engineer will have ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility and will communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
