About The Position

The Senior Systems Engineer serves as the technical lead for the full lifecycle development and sustainment of packet-based hardware and software systems built on Commercial and Government Off-The-Shelf (COTS/GOTS) technologies. This role is responsible for architecting, integrating, and operationalizing complex systems across hardware, software, and networking domains to deliver reliable, scalable, and mission-ready solutions.

Requirements

  • At least twenty (20) years of progressive Systems Engineering experience supporting programs or contracts of comparable scope, complexity, and mission impact.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field; an additional five (5) years of directly relevant Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
  • All applicants and employees are subject to random drug testing in accordance with Executive Order 12564.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a security background investigation and polygraph.
  • DOD 8570 Certification
  • This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system architecture, integration, verification, deployment, training, and long-term sustainment of packet-based hardware and software platforms utilizing COTS and GOTS components.
  • Oversee end-to-end integration of hardware, software, and network infrastructures, ensuring seamless interoperability, scalability, and performance across distributed environments.
  • Plan, develop, and execute system integration strategies, including validation and verification activities, to ensure systems meet operational, functional, and performance requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain BASH and PERL automation scripts supporting system provisioning, configuration management, deployment, and sustainment of core servers and clustered compute environments.
  • Drive automation and process optimization initiatives to improve system stability, operational efficiency, and maintainability.
  • Provide senior-level technical direction for troubleshooting, system optimization, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle sustainment activities.
  • Train and mentor system administrators, operators, and engineering staff, ensuring compliance with security, configuration management, and operational standards.
