About The Position

This position applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. The role involves interacting with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts. Communication with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives is essential. The Systems Engineer 1 is responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC 15288.

Requirements

  • Clearance: TS/SCI - Polygraph required
  • Experience with coding Python and Visual Basic for applications.
  • Strong experience in applying RF theoretical and academic knowledge in EMI testing unintended emissions within HF, VHF, and UHF spectrum.
  • Familiar with RF tools (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and components (amplifiers, filters, isolators, attenuators, terminators, etc.).
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus one (1) year of systems engineering experience.
  • Twelve (12) credit hours of college coursework in one (1) or more of the ISO/IEC 15288 Technical Process Areas may be substituted for the required one (1) year of systems engineering experience.
  • A High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area) may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electromagnetic compatibility testing, electromagnetic interference mitigation, and/or antenna calibration.

Responsibilities

  • Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement.
  • Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
  • Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
  • Responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC 15288.
  • Formulating and documenting test plans.
  • Draft and issue technical recommendations through formal test reports.
  • Specify and/or review system and component technical performance requirements to ensure optimal functionality while meeting E3 noise electric field limit.
  • Collaborate internal and external agency stakeholders to ensure technical support enables the E3 Program and customer mission requirements.
