About The Position

The Systems Development Assurance Engineer plays a key role in ensuring that aircraft and system developments meet development processes, EASA certification requirements, and Design Assurance (DAL) objectives. The role sits at the interface between systems engineering, architecture, safety, and certification, ensuring that stakeholder and aircraft-level needs are transformed into clear, complete, traceable, and verifiable requirements, and that system designs are developed and justified in accordance with the client development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Must be able to work onsite (3 days a week) in Mirabel, Quebec
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience in systems engineering, specification, design assurance, or certification within aerospace or another safety‑critical industry
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (ARP4754, DO‑178, DO‑254, ARP4761)
  • Have a solid understanding of: Requirements lifecycle management, Aircraft system development and the V‑cycle, Design Assurance and certification principles

Responsibilities

  • Capture, analyze, and manage aircraft‑level, system, and item requirements in alignment with standards and program objectives
  • Ensure end‑to‑end traceability across the development
  • Maintain requirements baselines and support configuration control and change management
  • Ensure requirements quality in line with s quality criteria (unambiguous, complete, consistent, and verifiable)
  • Support determination and justification of Development Assurance Levels (DALs)
  • Review system architectures, functional definitions, and design data for compliance, maturity, and certification readiness
  • Contribute to Design Assurance activities in compliance with: ARP4754A / ARP4754B, EASA CS‑25 / CS‑27 / CS‑29 (as applicable), DO‑178 (software) and DO‑254 (hardware) coordination
