Systems Design Engineer - Atlanta, GA
About The Position
The Systems Design Engineer role encompasses both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering disciplines. Responsibilities include creating 2D and 3D drawings and sheet sets for feasibility studies, developing project estimates and schedules for funding approval, and communicating effectively across departments to ensure project support and schedule adherence. The engineer will also collaborate with material-handling vendors, conveyor manufacturers, and electrical control manufacturers to ensure compliance with UPS standards and safety regulations. The goal is to integrate the latest engineering technologies to provide efficient and cost-effective solutions in the material-handling industry.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and simple diagrams
- Proficient in advanced 2D and 3D drafting, utilizing Autodesk products: AutoCAD, Architecture, Inventor with Factory Design Utilities, Navisworks Manage and Docs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, and Outlook)
- Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Engineering
- SolidWorks experience
Responsibilities
- Developing 2D and 3D drawings and sheet sets to meet feasibility study requirements.

- Effectively communicating cross-functionally to gain support for projects and drive schedule compliance.
- Interfacing and collaborating with material-handling vendors, conveyor manufacturers, electrical control manufacturers and consultants to ensure compliance with UPS standards, and safety regulations.
- Incorporating the latest engineering technologies to deliver the most efficient and cost-effective solutions in the material-handling industry.
