Systems Consultant

CCTTulsa, OK

About The Position

Systems Consultants build and maintain the infrastructure that Casino Insight runs on. When a casino buys CCT, a Systems Consultant stands up the environment: Windows and SQL Server, the application and message-queue tiers, remote access, and the linkedserver connections that pull data out of the property's slot, table, cage, and sportsbook systems. After go-live, the same Systems Consultant owns that environment's health and is the escalation point when something breaks. It is a genuine consulting role. Most client IT departments are small, and many have never integrated a system like ours. You are the expert in the room — advising on architecture, negotiating firewall and access changes, and enabling the client's team to support their side of the deployment after handoff. You do this work from our Tulsa office, not from the casino floor. Nearly every environment build, upgrade, and troubleshooting session happens remotely over screen shares with client IT, so travel is under 10% — occasional go-live support, a client visit, or an industry event. Sitting with the team matters early on: this is a role you learn by overhearing how the person next to you talks a client's network admin through a firewall change. Systems Consultants who are established in the role have the opportunity to move to a hybrid schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, etc.), or equivalent practical experience
  • Hands-on proficiency with MS SQL Server (backup/restore, scheduled jobs, linked servers, permissions), Windows Server, Active Directory, and IIS
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking — firewalls, NAT, VPN concepts, DNS, certificates, port troubleshooting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain a technical requirement to a client's IT director and to write documentation someone else can follow
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting discipline — a structured method for isolating a problem, and the ability to walk us through the reasoning behind a hard issue you solved, not just the outcome (see "How We Expect You to Think")
  • Comfortable owning multiple client projects at once and driving them to a deadline without being managed day to day
  • Ability to pass stringent background investigations and obtain gaming licensure/registration where required by client jurisdictions

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, implementation consulting, or a comparable technical role
  • AWS experience, especially VPC networking and site-to-site VPN — a real advantage, but something we're prepared to train
  • Virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware) and cloud or hybrid infrastructure
  • Exposure to Oracle, DB2/AS400, or PostgreSQL
  • Scripting for automation (PowerShell, T SQL)
  • Gaming, hospitality, or another regulated industry
  • Relevant certifications (AWS, Microsoft, CompTIA Network+/Security+)

Responsibilities

  • Build client environments (largest share of the role)
  • Stand up application and database servers for new Insight Cash and Insight Analytics implementations — Windows Server, IIS, MS SQL Server, TLS certificates, service accounts, scheduled jobs
  • Deploy and configure CCT's Data Bridge tier for single-site and multi-property clients
  • Configure linked servers and third-party data connections across MSSQL, Oracle, AS400/DB2, and PostgreSQL — slot systems, ticketing, kiosks and recyclers, table games, sportsbook
  • Set up employee Active Directory sync, report distribution, backups Cove, and training-environment refreshes from production
  • Own the network and access layer
  • Work with client IT to troubleshoot network issues between servers and workstations
  • Establish AWS site-to-site VPN tunnels against client firewalls FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, pfSense, and others). If you've done this before, great — if you haven't, we'll teach you. Solid TCP/IP fundamentals matter more here than prior AWS experience.
  • Configure and maintain SecureLink remote access, including gatekeeper setup and audit review
  • Support on-prem to AWS replication for hybrid client architectures
  • Run upgrades and keep environments healthy
  • Execute CAS push upgrades and MQ upgrades across the client base
  • Diagnose and resolve escalated production issues — service failures, blocked ports, failed jobs, disk and performance problems, broken integrations
  • Monitor environment health and patch levels; act on alerts before clients notice
  • Consult and document
  • Lead client IT kickoff calls: walk their team through requirements, architecture, and their responsibilities
  • Produce clear technical documentation — configuration guides, environment records in Passportal, and knowledge-base articles the rest of the team relies on
  • Support internal CCT IT and end-user requests as part of a shared rotation

Benefits

  • Hybrid flexibility opens up once you're established in the role
