About The Position

Dayforce is looking for an experienced Cloud Architect with deep Azure infrastructure expertise to join our Cloud Infrastructure Enablement team. You’ll be joining a team that provides expert guidance and support to internal teams and stakeholders on cloud adoption and infrastructure standards at Dayforce. Architects play a critical role in defining the future state of our Azure environment by designing secure, scalable, and resilient architectures that support the evolving needs of our product teams and customers. You’re a cloud infrastructure architect with a strong foundation in engineering and operations. With expertise in Azure and across Microsoft technology offerings, you want to play a role in defining and supporting the architecture and product deployment as Dayforce continues to evolve its cloud infrastructure. You have demonstrated experience working effectively as a member of a remote team and experience with the design, implementation, automation, governance, and administration of highly secure, high-performance, scalable, cloud-native solutions. This is an opportunity to advise and enable Dayforce technical teams to implement cloud infrastructure patterns that adhere to stringent privacy, compliance, scale, and availability requirements. As our platform continues to expand globally with new features and capabilities, you will play a vital role in our Cloud organization and have a significant impact on the successful delivery of our platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Eight or more years of experience in application development and architecture, with at least five years focused on designing and implementing cloud systems, ideally in Azure.
  • Deep hands-on experience with the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS, and networking services, including VMs, VMSS, VNet, Application Gateway, App Service, Kubernetes, Private Link, NSGs, and related technologies.
  • Experience with infrastructure design, configuration, management, and deployment of solutions that adhere to regulatory compliance requirements and security best practices.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as ARM, Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI.
  • Experience with cluster management, hardening, performance monitoring, disaster recovery, and automation.
  • Experience deploying least-privilege solutions and identity and access management patterns, including RBAC, Managed Identities, and Conditional Access.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas and information in compelling ways.
  • Ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels to drive organizational effectiveness and champion architectural best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver well-architected solutions that adhere to the guiding tenets of Reliability, Security, Cost Optimization, Operational Excellence, and Performance Efficiency.
  • Provide expert-level technical consultation and analysis, solving complex problems.
  • Play a leadership role and provide subject matter expertise in designing solutions, organizing, attending, and leading hands-on sessions with Engineering, Application Development, and Operations teams.
  • Design solutions at an abstract and conceptual level and document them in our design pattern library.
  • Drive continuous improvement in products, processes, and tools by developing and implementing new or enhanced technical methods and techniques to improve our architectural consulting practice.
  • Work with Product Management and Development teams to provide feedback and influence the direction of product roadmap initiatives and product management processes in alignment with our cloud strategy and governance objectives.
  • Work with other Architects to ensure knowledge sharing across our consulting practice and develop consistent problem-solving approaches.
  • Support the investigation and adoption of new and emerging cloud architecture practices and technologies, creating opportunities for improvement and actively participating in initiatives to improve our technical practices.
