About The Position

Become a key member of the DSLM Integrated Test Bed (ITB) team. As a systems architect and integrator, you will provide technical expertise and ensure system security, integration, and governance. A key element of your role will be architecture, development, and integration of virtual machines and environments within a secure network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field plus 3 years related work experience
  • Ability to acquire a Secret clearance
  • DoD 8140 qualified
  • Experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems and command line knowledge
  • Experience in application administration, configuration, and integration
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare vSphere)
  • Working knowledge of Cisco and other network device command line interfaces
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork
  • Flexibility with working hours; occasional weekend hours may be required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with US Space Force Satellite Control Network (or DoD)
  • Experience with the SCN Integrated Test Bed (ITB)
  • Experience with information system security best practices and STIGs
  • Proficiency in Active Directory and Domain Name Services (DNS)
  • Working knowledge of SEIM tools and other enterprise management services (e.g., LogRhythm, SolarWinds, Tanium)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of changes in technologies and practices that present risks to or opportunities for the performance and longevity of the ITB architecture.
  • Study and analyze ITB system and process needs; develop and implement changes as needed to support project integration and baseline development.
  • Solve enterprise management system problems related to SolarWinds, LogRhythm, Palo Alto, Active Directory, vSphere, NETAPP, and others.
  • Design and implement servers and system architecture for virtual machines, physical machines, network devices, applications, and services.
  • Key focus will be integration of Communications Segment Sustainment Test Bed (CCSTB) and its virtual environments and network devices.
  • Troubleshoot when needed.
  • Ensure network design and configuration allow multiple users on multiple projects to access required assets, platforms, and applications within the network.
  • Manage the temporary change process to resolve conflicts and ensure proper compatibility, use, monitoring, configuration, documentation, and security of systems.
  • Act as Communications Security (COMSEC) alternate custodian; maintain and update secure devices; adhere to strict security guidance.
  • Set and maintain a baseline for security policies and configurations within the environment—protecting systems from unauthorized access, increasing cyber security posture as conditions demand, maintaining cognizance of content of software maintenance actions to include changes to OS or applications technologies, and maintaining policies for securing systems from lab-specific obscurities.
  • Maintain a sanitized environment to include removing unnecessary snapshots, files, folders, backups, etc.
  • Participate in development and management of governance process.
  • Monitor standards compliance, address violations, and manage architectural changes.
  • Ensure configurations within the architecture are tracked and controlled and verify baseline releases contain information pertaining to relevant ITB systems.
  • Maintain policies for users of the systems to ensure best system integration solutions and shared team usage of the lab’s controlled systems.
