About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on Systems Analyst to support the enhancement of a large-scale, customer-facing web platform and its integrated back-end systems. This is a technical authorship role where you will personally create the artifacts developers build from, including system design and interface specifications, source-to-target (S2T) data mappings, API and batch integration contracts, while writing your own SQL to profile and validate the underlying data. You should also be capable of creating and documenting APIs. The client is looking for a Technical Business Analyst with a strong understanding of system architecture, integration patterns, upstream and downstream systems, and solution analysis. The ideal candidate should be able to independently analyze systems, identify integrations, understand architectural dependencies, perform reverse engineering, and actively contribute to solution and integration discussions beyond traditional business analysis responsibilities. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and the development and QA teams, translating complex business and policy requirements into detailed, build-ready technical documentation. Although internally classified as a Senior Technical Business Analyst, this is primarily a Systems Analysis role with a strong technical focus.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in requirements gathering, business process modeling, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• 8+ years of hands-on SQL development for data profiling, analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
• 8+ years of Business Analysis experience delivering projects using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• 8+ years of experience creating workflow diagrams, process flows, BRDs, FRDs, and SRS documentation.
• 8+ years of experience understanding enterprise IT systems, system integrations, and process optimization.
• Hands-on experience authoring integration/interface specifications and contributing to system design documentation.
• Strong experience creating Source-to-Target (S2T) mappings, performing source data profiling, and collaborating with developers and data owners.
• Experience documenting REST APIs, including request/response structures, authentication, status codes, Swagger/OpenAPI documentation, and Postman testing.
• Strong understanding of both real-time API integrations and batch/file-based integration patterns, including reconciliation and error-handling mechanisms.
• Experience creating technical diagrams using Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io, or Enterprise Architect.
• Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps for backlog management, requirements management, and Agile sprint planning.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for customer-facing web portals and supporting applications.
• Prepare BRDs, FRDs, SRS documents, and contribute interface and data sections of System Design Documents (SDDs).
• Create detailed Source-to-Target (S2T) mappings, including field-level mappings, data types, transformation logic, lookup rules, default values, and null handling after profiling source data.
• Define integration specifications for REST APIs and batch/file interfaces, including endpoints, payloads, JSON schemas, authentication, status codes, file layouts, SLAs, error handling, retry mechanisms, and reconciliation processes.
• Write complex SQL queries using joins, aggregations, and window functions to analyze data, investigate cross-system discrepancies, and validate business outcomes.
• Develop process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, ERDs, and logical data models.
• Perform gap analysis, feasibility analysis, impact assessments, and document recommended technical solutions.
• Coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validate results using SQL, and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage requirements, user stories, epics, and sprint activities in Azure DevOps within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, development teams, and QA teams to resolve requirement ambiguities and ensure technical alignment.
