About The Position

The Systems Analyst III is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting scalable, secure, and highly available data and AI platforms in the cloud. This role combines advanced systems analysis responsibilities with senior-level DevOps engineering, with a focus on AI integration, Microsoft Azure cloud services, and Snowflake administration. Requirements

  • 8+ years of strong experience in DevOps practices and tools, including Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, including core compute, storage, networking, and platform services.
  • 8+ years of expertise in Snowflake administration, including access control and security (RBAC, least privilege), performance tuning, query optimization, and warehouse management.
  • 8+ years of proficiency in Python scripting for automation, DevOps, and data engineering tasks.
  • 8+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud data integration patterns and tools.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated understanding of AI/ML concepts and platform integration (e.g., integrating AI/ML services into applications and data platforms).
  • 8+ years of experience with Azure Monitoring and Log Analytics, including centralized logging, alerting, and dashboarding, and security monitoring using audit logs, metrics, and related telemetry.
  • 8+ years of familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools and practices (e.g., metrics collection, distributed tracing, log aggregation).
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • 3+ years of experience implementing AI-enabled data platforms (e.g., Snowflake Cortex, machine learning pipelines, or similar AI/ML-enabled data solutions).
  • 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and frameworks (e.g., Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates, Ansible).
  • 3+ years of knowledge of data security, compliance, and governance frameworks (e.g., data classification, encryption, retention, regulatory requirements).
  • 3+ years of experience working in public sector or large enterprise environments with complex governance and security requirements.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including root cause analysis and performance troubleshooting in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Understands business objectives, operational problems, and strategic goals to translate them into technical requirements and solution designs.
  • Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and existing problems to automate processing or improve existing computer systems.
  • Confers with personnel across organizational units to analyze current operational procedures and identify pain points, and learn specific input and output requirements, including forms and formats of data input, rules for how data is summarized and transformed, and formats and layouts for reports, dashboards, and other outputs.
  • Writes detailed descriptions of user needs, functional requirements, program functions, and step-by-step processes required to develop or modify applications, data pipelines, and infrastructure components.
  • Reviews computer system capabilities, technical specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine feasibility of requested programs or changes within existing environments.
  • Performs cost/benefit and risk analyses of alternative solutions, including build vs. buy and on-prem vs. cloud-based approaches.
  • Serves as a Senior DevOps Engineer with expertise in AI integration, Azure cloud platform, and Snowflake administration, responsible for building scalable and secure data and AI pipelines.
  • Designs, implements, and manages CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git to enable automated build, test, and deployment of applications, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
  • Administers and optimizes Snowflake environments, including role-based access control (RBAC) and least-privilege security models, performance tuning, query optimization, and virtual warehouse management, and capacity planning and cost optimization.
  • Develops and maintains automation scripts and tools in Python for infrastructure provisioning and configuration, data engineering workloads and ETL/ELT pipelines, and operational tasks, monitoring, and remediation.
  • Designs and supports containerized workloads using Kubernetes (AKS preferred), including deployment strategies, scaling, and resiliency patterns.
  • Builds and maintains secure, reliable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to move, transform, and integrate data across cloud platforms and services.
  • Integrates AI/ML capabilities into data platforms and solutions, leveraging appropriate Azure and Snowflake features and services.
  • Implements and manages monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other relevant tools to provide centralized logging and traceability, proactive alerting and incident detection, and security monitoring using audit logs and metrics.
  • Ensures strong security, governance, and compliance through implementation of RBAC and least-privilege access, configuration of policies, standards, and guardrails, and collaboration with security and compliance stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (architecture, development, data engineering, security, operations) to design and deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing cloud and data solutions.
