About The Position

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst 3 with a strong background as a Senior DevOps Engineer specializing in Azure cloud technologies, Snowflake administration, AI integration, and automation engineering. The selected candidate will design, implement, and support scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based data platforms and AI-enabled solutions. This role requires extensive experience with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, Azure infrastructure, Python automation, Snowflake administration, container orchestration, and enterprise monitoring solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performing cloud and data environments while maintaining security, compliance, and governance standards.

Requirements

  • 8 years or more of experience in DevOps practices and tools, including Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform
  • Snowflake administration, including: Access control and security (RBAC, least privilege), Performance tuning, Warehouse management
  • Python scripting for automation and data engineering initiatives
  • Containerization and orchestration technologies (AKS preferred)
  • Data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud data integration
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts and platform integrations
  • Azure Monitoring and Log Analytics, including: Centralized logging, Alerting and dashboard creation, Security monitoring through audit logs and metrics
  • Monitoring, logging, and observability tools
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled data platforms, such as Snowflake Cortex or ML pipelines
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions
  • Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance frameworks
  • Previous experience supporting public sector agencies or large enterprise environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
  • Exposure to Snowflake AI and Cortex capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Develop and support scalable cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Administer and optimize Snowflake environments, including warehouse management, performance tuning, and security administration.
  • Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) and least-privilege security models across cloud and data platforms.
  • Develop Python-based automation scripts to streamline infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and operational tasks.
  • Build and support data pipelines and cloud-based ETL processes.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes technologies, with emphasis on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Collaborate with data engineering and AI teams to integrate AI/ML capabilities into enterprise platforms.
  • Configure and manage Azure Monitoring, Log Analytics, centralized logging, alerting, and dashboard solutions.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement observability best practices.
  • Evaluate business requirements and recommend technical solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Produce technical documentation, operational procedures, and implementation standards.
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in after-hours support activities when required.
