About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to join our team for a long-term contract role in Austin, Texas. This hybrid position requires local candidates within 50 miles of Austin. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-grade DevOps practices, developing scalable cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, and administering Snowflake environments. You will also be involved in Python automation, containerized workload management with Kubernetes (AKS), integrating AI/ML capabilities, and configuring monitoring and logging frameworks. This role involves collaborating with various teams, supporting production issues, ensuring compliance, and evaluating business requirements to recommend technical solutions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience with DevOps practices, automation, and CI/CD methodologies.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
  • 8+ years of experience using Azure DevOps, Git, and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Strong experience administering Snowflake environments, including: RBAC and security administration, Warehouse management, Query and performance optimization, Data governance and access controls.
  • Extensive Python scripting experience for automation and platform engineering.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes and AKS.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise data pipelines and ETL workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.
  • Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, dashboards, alerting, and audit monitoring.
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts and integration into cloud-based enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep, or similar).
  • Knowledge of security, compliance, governance, and cloud best practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Must be local to Austin, TX (within 50 miles).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience implementing AI-enabled data platforms, including Snowflake Cortex and ML-driven solutions.
  • Experience integrating AI services into enterprise cloud architectures.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake AI, Cortex, and advanced analytics capabilities.
  • Experience supporting Texas state agencies, Medicaid, healthcare, or large public-sector environments.
  • Experience working in highly regulated enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud security frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Experience with state client exp is very helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade DevOps practices using Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Develop and support scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Administer Snowflake environments, including warehouse management, performance optimization, access controls, and security administration.
  • Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and least-privilege access models across cloud and data platforms.
  • Develop Python automation scripts for infrastructure provisioning, deployment automation, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
  • Build, manage, and optimize cloud-based ETL processes and data integration pipelines.
  • Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes, with a strong preference for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and AI teams to integrate AI/ML capabilities into enterprise platforms.
  • Configure and manage Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, centralized logging, dashboards, alerting, and observability frameworks.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement proactive monitoring strategies.
  • Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations for cloud resource deployment and management.
  • Develop technical documentation, operational runbooks, standards, and support procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to security, governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in production support and after-hours maintenance activities as needed.
  • Evaluate business requirements and recommend scalable technical solutions aligned with agency objectives.
