Geocgi is seeking Systems Engineers (Junior, Mid, and Senior levels) to support enterprise geospatial and IT systems in secure, mission driven environments for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and key partners, including Esri. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable systems that support GIS applications and broader enterprise infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings a blend of system administration, GIS platform experience, and infrastructure knowledge, with the ability to support both technical operations and system improvements. The primary onsite location will be either the NGA office at 2301 Cass Ave, St. Louis, Missouri or the NGA office at 7500 GEOINT Drive, Springfield, Virginia. Junior: 1–5 years of experience supporting systems and infrastructure under guidance. Mid-Level: 3–10+ years of experience independently managing systems, automation, and integrations. Senior: 5–10+ years of experience leading system architecture, design, and enterprise solutions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen with Active Top Secret Clearance (SCI eligible) or current within the last 2 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in systems engineering, system administration, or similar roles.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and administering enterprise ArcGIS or comparable IT systems.
  • Strong experience with Windows and/or Linux system administration.
  • Working knowledge of at least one scripting/programming language (Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, C#).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, domains, HTTPS, firewalls, proxies, load balancing).
  • Experience with at least one relational database system (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with geospatial data and spatial databases.
  • Familiarity with spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing.
  • Experience supporting federal or defense programs.
  • Familiarity with secure or classified environments.
  • Experience supporting high-availability or large-scale data systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise ArcGIS and IT systems (desktop, server, and online environments).
  • Administer and support systems across Windows and/or Linux environments.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure reliability, scalability, and availability.
  • Support system integration across networked environments and enterprise platforms.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, PowerShell, or similar).
  • Manage and support databases, including SQL query development and optimization.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and support incident resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions and improvements.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and best practices.
