About The Position

AT&T Global Public Sector is hiring a Systems Administrator to support day-to-day IT systems for a customized network solution serving the federal government. The role supports the National Security team, which provides, operates, and assures critical voice, video, and collaboration services for national security operations. The position requires office presence at least five days per week in Columbia, Maryland; relocation is not offered. The Systems Administrator administers Linux and/or Windows systems, supporting system availability, backup and restore, configuration changes, maintenance, and patching across physical and virtual systems. The role also supports VMware, virtual machines, NAS and SAN storage, and the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, printers, network components, and software. The position requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. The position is regular, with a 40-hour workweek. The stated annual salary range is $89,200–$170,000; starting salary within the range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education or training.

Requirements

Three years of experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; a developer nanodegree; or equivalent work experience.
TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Ability to work in the office at least five days per week in the posted location.

Responsibilities

Administer day-to-day Linux and/or Windows systems, including availability, backup and restore, configuration changes, maintenance, and patching of physical and virtual systems.
Support and administer VMware, including hosting and managing virtual machines, and support NAS and SAN storage hardware.
Install and configure workstations, servers, printers, and data, voice, or video network components.
Install and maintain software releases.
Maintain data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Consult with clients, hardware and software vendors, application programmers, and the network team.
Provide technical support for development, test, and production environments.
Perform capacity planning, system administration, system tuning, problem analysis, and hardware and software upgrades.
Develop administrative policies, documentation, and procedures for maintaining and operating assets.
Perform testing and establish system acceptance criteria for current and new hardware and software.
Determine training needs and develop system administration guidelines tailored to the work environment.
Configure and build server hardware and network interfaces to meet client and vendor technical specifications.
Build client profiles and system configurations for software distribution equipment.
Respond to system alerts and troubleshoot and resolve problems.
