About The Position

Amentum is seeking a System Administrator for a new prime contract that is based out of our Maryland office. This role involves providing support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. The System Administrator will manage the IT system infrastructure and related processes, ensuring the day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices, and mobile devices. The position includes providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, identifying, diagnosing, and resolving problems. Responsibilities also include escalating issues and communicating status to agency management and internal customers, supporting the dispatch system and hardware problems, and remaining involved in the resolution process. The role requires configuring and managing UNIX and Windows operating systems, installing/loading operating system software, troubleshooting, maintaining network component integrity, and implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Additionally, the System Administrator will manage daily IT system configuration and operation activities, assist users in accessing and using IT systems, optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning. The position demands in-depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems and providing detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.

Requirements

  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI Poly
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, IT Engineering or related field is required. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, four (4) additional years of work-related experience may be substituted for a total of twelve (12) years.
  • Minimum Years of Experience: Ten (10) years’ experience as a SA on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, four (4) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
  • Required Certifications: Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAM Level I is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
