UVP has a new opening for a Systems Administrator in Bloomington. The candidate will have a strong Server Administration and Networking background. They will be responsible for installing and configuring new cloud servers, virtual and physical network devices and firewalls. Proactively manage and maintain the existing IT infrastructure (Win11 | Server 2016-2022 | SQL) and conduct upgrades as directed. They will administer, support and deploy core Microsoft, SQL, Azure and Google Cloud servers. Produce and manage system backups. Implement security fixes, operating system patches and antivirus software/definitions on multiple closed/stand-a-lone networks. Maintain up to date inventories on all hardware, software, firmware, applications and licenses. Create troubleshooting documentation and Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure continuing systems operability by providing ongoing optimization and problem- solving support. The selected candidate will act as an escalation point Subject Matter Expect and will be expected to assist with troubleshooting the most complex situations in person or over the phone with technical and non-technical personnel. Analyzes risks and/or vulnerabilities and takes corrective actions to mitigate or remove them. Assist in the design and implementation of Disaster Recovery plans and IT Policies. Starting pay is $60-70K/year.

Requirements

  • Strong Server Administration and Networking background.
  • Strong Microsoft, SQL, Azure, and Google Cloud experience
  • Firewall experience – Meraki , Sonicwall
  • Complex VLAN Configurations – Meraki
  • Strong Experience in physical to virtual/cloud Server Migrations
  • PowerShell, scripting and Automation
  • Office 365 Administration
  • AD / GPO management and implementation
  • Strong experience in migrating SQL databases and other Database Technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure deployment and Administration
  • Wireless LAN Controller/Access Point management
  • Work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills to influence others
  • Ability to independently learn new technologies and data related approaches

  • Minimum Associates Degree in computer sciences or related study or 10+ Years of experience or equivalent combination of training, certifications, work
  • Experience with System Integrations resulting from Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Experience scheduling/automating scripts
  • Familiarity with security issues in the cloud such as intrusion, penetration, and vulnerability scanning

Responsibilities
