About The Position

Reliant Credit Union, ranked one of Rochester's top mid-sized workplaces nine years in a row, seeks a Systems Administrator to join our team. The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining technology systems, including server, database, networking hardware, software, and their operations. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and software equipment to ensure optimal computing and equipment performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer related field, and three years of related work experience; additional related work experience considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Current, advanced level certification in networking, system administration or security is highly desired.
  • Hands on experience with industry standard server and desktop virtualization technologies; anti-virus, malware, and intrusion prevention technologies; automated software updating and patching services; and data encryption and secure file transmission technologies.
  • Strong understanding of network and security principles as related to systems infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of standard scripting languages including PowerShell and Python.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard server and desktop virtualization, enterprise antivirus, data encryption, secure file transmission technologies, automated software update/patching services, malware, and intrusion prevention technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting & analytical skills and ability to organize teams to facilitate resolution of production issues.
  • Use of keyboard, monitor, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
  • Communicate effectively in person and via telephone, video conferencing, email, and written documents.
  • Access document equipment and files above and below waist levels.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and monitors network and server systems according to regulatory and best practice standards. This includes leading efforts to mitigate system and network vulnerabilities, supporting existing security systems, and working with third party security providers.
  • Recognizes, anticipates, troubleshoots, repairs, and resolves all network and server related problems.
  • Assists in the development of long-term strategies and capacity planning for future networking and system needs. Proactively provides recommendations and changes to our technology environment.
  • Maintains regular and consistent backups of network and server systems, in accordance with procedures and regulatory/best practice standards for business continuity.
  • Maintains documentation and reports on network, server, IT security systems.
  • Provide technical support and direction to IT staff so that problems are prevented and resolved quickly without significant interruption. Also provide assistance to Credit Union staff as requested.
