About The Position

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for making recommendations and monitoring the design, deployment and operations of APCON’s IT infrastructure; while fully supporting all APCON users. This role is fully on site. Candidates selected to move forward will complete our standard prescreening process, which includes a background check and drug screen.

Requirements

  • Must have a customer service/user support mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to take technical information and communicate it effectively to technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and updates of hardware and software.
  • Experience troubleshooting network issues/problems.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware peripheral devices and networking/switching equipment.
  • Configure and troubleshoot multiple VLANs, LAN/WAN and IT infrastructure and design experience.
  • Experience with various network monitoring tools.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate Systems Administrator role.

Nice To Haves

  • Windows and Linux experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Management on overall IT systems operations.
  • Provide end user desktop support.
  • Performs new hire desktop/laptop/phone set up including Windows, Linux, and VMWare.
  • Maintains and tracks IT equipment, records, and software licensing.
  • Performs continual preventative maintenance and updates on company IT hardware and software systems.
  • Collaboratively manages, maintains, and updates Microsoft IIS, Active Directory, Sugar, Shoretel, and Exchange Servers and other server room equipment.
  • Works with management to prepare cost and benefit analyses for IT spending and updating initiatives.
  • Maintains company’s network operations which will include headquarters, a remote site, as well as mobile devices.
  • Maintain and configure firewalls and other security tools.
  • Communicate with senior management to implement, update, and manage network security service tools for network firewalls, VPN, and content control.
  • Administers and ensures maintenance and updating of all Security Infrastructure computer systems and hardware platforms.
  • Conduct network risk assessments, conduct network vulnerability scans, provide technical and encryption options for solutions.
  • Monitor audit logs to detect suspicious activity.
  • Provides after hours support for planned maintenance, performs on-call emergency support service and patching when required.
