The System Administrator shall be responsible for providing support for a large-scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all the compute, network, memory, and storage system components. In addition, the System Administrator shall maintain the system security integrity and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Requirements

  • Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
  • 15+ years of related experience
  • TS/SCI w/ Polygraph security clearance required
  • Experience using the Linux CLI
  • Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
  • General technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system components
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite systems management solution
  • Familiarity using Splunk for ingesting, indexing, searching, monitoring, and analyzing big data
  • Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as SaltStack and Ansible
  • Experience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and Nagios
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
  • Experience with distributed files systems such as Weka, CEPH, GPFS, and HDFS
  • Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence

Responsibilities

  • Providing support for a large-scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all the compute, network, memory, and storage system components.
  • Maintain the system security integrity.
  • Configure network components.
  • Implement operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Performing System Administration including installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a large-scale Linux cluster environment.
  • Sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution.
  • Configuring and sustaining VMware ESXi/Virtualization environments.
  • Adhering to corporate STE/STN security compliance policies and procedures.
