About The Position

The Digital Modernization group at Leidos has a career opening for a System Administrator on a DISA contract. This role is primarily on the customer site at Ft Meade, MD. The Administrator will provide support for assigned systems supporting the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS). The role involves providing senior-level expertise for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments, leading as a Subject Matter Expert, and providing strategic leadership and input with development partners. The administrator will also be responsible for onboarding new enclaves and environments, interacting with Tier III support, evaluating vendor products, and developing and monitoring policies and standards for computing resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of overall related experience with a Windows/Linux server environment (Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Windows, Linux, and Solaris Server experience with an expertise in at least one
  • Extensive experience working with virtual environments using VMware and VDI practices
  • Currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI
  • Currently possess DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ce
  • Currently possess VCP-DCV; VCAP-DCA; VCP-desktop; and/or VCAP – Desktop admin

Nice To Haves

  • Integration of cyber security tools and systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired
  • Candidates with a thorough knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP a plus
  • Experience with a ticketing system such as ServiceNow
  • ITIL v3 Foundation certified

Responsibilities

  • Provide Senior level expertise for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment
  • Lead as the Subject Matter Expert on all VDI related issues/needs
  • Provide support for ticket escalation on major outages
  • Be able to work in a rapid paced environment at times
  • Provide strategic leadership and input with development partners to ensure customers understand emerging needs and technological advancements
  • Lead the onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments as needed
  • Interacts with Tier III support and evaluates vendor products
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
  • Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures
  • Application of security settings and other commercial best
  • Provides coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff
