About The Position

Technology Resource Experts, LLC is looking for a Systems Administrator to join their rapidly growing team! This role involves providing support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, managing daily activities of configuration and operation, and offering Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution. The position also includes assisting users in accessing and using IT systems, supporting IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for various devices, and providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 (Escalation) support. Responsibilities extend to optimizing system operations, resource utilization, performing system capacity analysis and planning, supporting the dispatch system and hardware problems, and remaining involved in the resolution process. The role requires in-depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems, configuring and managing UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems, installing/loading operating system software, troubleshooting, maintaining network component integrity, and configuring network components. Additionally, it involves implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance, providing detailed analysis and feedback to management for escalated tickets, supporting system design, mission architecture, and associated hardware, and possessing a working knowledge of system administration interdependencies within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The Systems Administrator will analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI Poly
  • BS + 15 years experience
  • 5 yrs experience in Information Assurance (In addition to systems-based operating systems, configure and manage virtual environments)
  • 5 yrs experience in Information Technology (Patch systems based on state-of-the-art security and functional parameters)
  • Experience with enterprise-level Linux distributions (e.g. Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and command line interface (CLI)
  • Experience with system automation tools with a focus on Ansible
  • Knowledge of network protocols and services (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare, KVM, Docker, OpenShift)
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Nagios, Zabbix, ELK Stack)
  • Understanding of security best practices and protocols
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Gitlab)

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
  • Manage daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
  • Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
  • Support the design of the systems, mission architecture and associated hardware
  • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration
