About The Position

Under the direction of the IT Manager, the Systems Administrator I is responsible for maintaining and supporting the credit union's IT infrastructure including server management, network administration and ensuring the overall health and performance of IT systems. The Administrator will troubleshoot, solve problems efficiently, and provide technical support to end-users.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Windows-based systems and Microsoft technologies in a professional or enterprise environment.
  • Experience working with server operating systems, basic networking, and end-user computing environments.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware) and general infrastructure concepts.
  • Basic experience or exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure, or Intune environments.
  • Working knowledge of user account management, permissions, and access controls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common hardware, software, network, and system issues.
  • Basic understanding of system security principles, including patching and secure configuration practices.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
  • Strong willingness to learn new technologies and develop technical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to or familiarity with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell or similar) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
  • Support Microsoft Windows and LINUX servers within a VMWare virtualization environment including server applications, databases.
  • Provide system security and performance administration based on access control reporting, internal and external audit review of controls and business area feedback.
  • Diagnose, troubleshooting, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
  • Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and systems to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Document system performance, service levels, and other key metrics.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and colleagues.
  • Stay current with technological advances and industry trends.
