About The Position

Hudson River Community Credit Union is seeking a curious, reliable, and technically strong Systems Administrator I to join their IT team. This role is crucial for maintaining the technology environment, supporting hardware, software, networks, and specialized member service technologies. It offers hands-on experience in server administration, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, cybersecurity compliance, and member-facing technologies like Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) and cash recyclers. Requirements

  • 2-5 years of IT support experience, with a focus on Windows environments, networking, and systems administration
  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server administration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration: user management, licensing, Teams/SharePoint configuration, and Exchange Online
  • Familiarity with backup/patching cycles, basic scripting, and routine system maintenance
  • Service mindset: treat team members with patience, professionalism, and genuine care
  • Clear communicator: able to translate technical issues into plain language for non-technical staff
  • Active listener: ask good questions and understand needs before jumping to a solution
  • Organized and reliable: manage competing priorities, follow through consistently, and document work
  • Curious and forward-thinking: think about what could be better and bring ideas

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with member service or financial technology platforms such as ITMs, cash recyclers, or core banking integrations

Responsibilities

  • Administer servers, workstations, and network devices under the direction of the IT Director
  • Support the Microsoft 365 environment including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Entra ID (formerly Azure AD)
  • Develop deep expertise in the credit union's member-facing technology platforms, including Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) and cash recyclers
  • Assist with the configuration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of ITMs and related peripherals
  • Partner with branch staff and operations to support technology upgrades and new deployments that impact the member experience
  • Contribute input on the strategic direction and roadmap for member service technology platforms
  • Provide first- and second-level support for hardware, software, and network issues via the help desk ticketing system
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely, service-oriented manner, treating every request with urgency and professionalism
  • Assist with system configurations, software installations, and technology upgrades
  • Support new employee onboarding: configure equipment, set up accounts, and ensure team members are ready on day one
  • Maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights in line with security protocols
  • Participate in the deployment of new technologies and enhancements across the organization
  • Follow cybersecurity protocols and actively help identify potential risks or vulnerabilities
