About The Position

This role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across physical, virtual, and cloud-based environments. The position also requires applying system updates, patches, and conducting various scans to maintain cyber compliance. The goal is to build, field, and sustain next-generation software solutions for the U.S. military and deploy cyber security solutions across the Department of War. The Systems Administrator and Security Analyst will install, configure, and manage RHEL and Windows operating systems to meet operator needs and comply with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NETCOM requirements. Responsibilities include assessing and managing system performance, authoring documentation for configuration changes and procedures, and providing direct communication to the customer regarding technical challenges, risks, and solution options. The role requires identifying problem areas and improvement opportunities in a mission-critical network, translating metrics into actionable information, and maintaining/upgrading deployed systems on tactical networks. There is an emphasis on team growth, sharing expertise through leadership and mentoring, and identifying opportunities to modernize the network to help clients achieve their goals.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with Linux Systems Engineering or Administrating
  • Experience with RHEL 8 or 9
  • Experience in shell scripting and automation
  • Experience with monitoring and Cybersecurity tools including ACAS Security Center, Evaluate STIG, SCAP, STIG Viewer, or Nessus Scanner
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Hypervisor, or KVM
  • Experience with containerization including Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of system hardening, security best practices, and networking concepts including IPv4, SSH and Firewalls
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with threat intelligence platforms and incident response frameworks
  • Knowledge of changes in RHEL 10
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification

Responsibilities
