About The Position

SageCor Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator 3 to support Linux-based high-performance computing systems and storage fabrics. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph and is based in SageCor’s service area of Maryland and the Greater Washington, D.C. area; the posting does not specify a work arrangement.

The position focuses on Linux system administration, including operating-system installation and configuration, networking, troubleshooting, scripting, and software installation. It also involves HPC architecture and high-speed networks, with additional storage-fabric responsibilities that include Lustre and DDN Exascaler systems. The administrator is expected to troubleshoot systems whose configurations may vary, and to stay curious and proactive in learning emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Either 10 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree, or 15 years of experience; IAT II is also stated in the experience requirement.
• Linux administration experience with RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, SLES, or Ubuntu.
• Experience with OS installation, file-system configuration, TCP/IP networking, operating-system and application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, and software compilation and installation.
• Understanding of HPC architecture and knowledge of high-speed networks such as InfiniBand and Slingshot.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, and Ansible.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to address differences among system configurations.
• Lustre file-system configuration, administration, and troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience with DDN Exascaler file-system appliances.
• TCP/IP networking knowledge, specifically for storage fabrics.
• Experience with Cisco and Juniper routers and switches.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Arista routers and switches, which are starting to be incorporated.
• Genuine curiosity and proactive effort to learn emerging technologies such as E1000s, ESNs, DAOS, and Weka.
• Experience with benchmarking tools such as IOR, iperf, FIO, and lnet_selftest.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure Linux operating systems and file systems.
• Configure TCP/IP networking and troubleshoot operating systems and applications.
• Write BASH scripts and compile and install software.
• Support and troubleshoot high-performance computing architecture and high-speed networks.
• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Lustre file systems and DDN Exascaler file system appliances.
• Support TCP/IP networking for storage fabrics and routers and switches.
• Use benchmarking tools such as IOR, iperf, FIO, and lnet_selftest.
• Learn and grow familiarity with emerging technologies, including E1000s, ESNs, DAOS, and Weka.
