About The Position

SageCor Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator 2 to support Linux-based high-performance computing environments. The role involves operating system installation and configuration, networking, troubleshooting, and software installation, with additional focus areas in storage fabric and networking. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and the stated experience and education or certification qualifications.

The administrator will work with Linux distributions and HPC technologies, including high-speed networks, monitoring and collaboration tools, schedulers, configuration management systems, and version control. Storage-focused work includes Lustre and DDN Exascaler systems, storage fabrics, network equipment, and benchmarking tools. SageCor emphasizes curiosity and proactive learning as technologies evolve.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Five years of experience and a bachelor’s degree, or ten years of experience and IAT II.
• Strictly Linux experience, including RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, SLES, and Ubuntu.
• Experience with OS installation, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, system and application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, and software compilation and installation.
• Understanding of HPC architecture and knowledge of high-speed networks such as InfiniBand and Slingshot.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, and Ansible.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to address problems across systems that may differ.

Nice To Haves

• Lustre file system configuration, administration, and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with DDN Exascaler file system appliances.
• TCP/IP networking knowledge, specifically for storage fabrics.
• Experience with routers and switches from Cisco and Juniper; familiarity with Arista as it is being incorporated.
• Experience with benchmarking tools such as IOR, iperf, FIO, and lnet_selftest.
• Curiosity and proactive effort to learn emerging technologies such as E1000s, ESNs, DAOS, and Weka.

Responsibilities

• Install Linux operating systems and configure file systems and TCP/IP networking.
• Troubleshoot operating systems, applications, and diverse system configurations.
• Write BASH scripts and compile and install software.
• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Lustre file systems and storage fabrics.
• Work with HPC architectures and high-speed networks, including InfiniBand and Slingshot.
• Work with routers and switches from Cisco and Juniper, with Arista also being incorporated.
• Use benchmarking tools such as IOR, iperf, FIO, and lnet_selftest.
• Proactively learn and grow in emerging technologies such as E1000s, ESNs, DAOS, and Weka.
