About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Team Lead/Lead Associate for the UNIX team. This role involves maintaining the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, coordinating with network engineers, and monitoring system resources to ensure optimal performance. The position also includes performing systems security administration, managing user accounts, maintaining documentation, tuning system performance, installing software, and allocating storage space. Additionally, the role requires interacting with users, evaluating vendor products, making recommendations for hardware and software purchases, coordinating installations, and providing backup recovery. The Team Lead will also develop and monitor policies and standards for the allocation and use of computing resources.

Requirements

5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD; 9 years w/o BS/BA; 7 years w/Associates
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Security+ Certification

Responsibilities

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
Setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
