About The Position

NTT DATA is seeking a Systems Administration Specialist to join its team in Newport News, Virginia. The role supports Windows Server environments, enterprise workstations, VMware infrastructure, and virtual desktop environments in an industrial shipyard setting. The specialist provides Tier 2/3 support, strengthens security and compliance, optimizes system performance, and maintains technical documentation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Windows system administration.
• At least 5 years of experience with VMware.
• At least 2 years of experience with VMware ESXi and vSphere.
• At least 2 years of experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• CompTIA Security+, an equivalent certification, or a higher Operating Systems certification within 90 days of start.
• Active DOD Secret (SSBI) T5 clearance eligible.

Nice To Haves

• Undergraduate/bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with Horizon View.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, upgrade, and support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and enterprise workstations.
• Deploy, configure, and optimize VMware ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter solutions.
• Support VDI environments, manage virtual desktop configurations, and ensure a seamless end-user experience.
• Implement system hardening, patch management, and access controls in accordance with organizational standards.
• Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and diagnose and resolve system and network issues.
• Monitor system health, implement automation, and fine-tune configurations to improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, troubleshooting steps, and system changes.
