BAE Systems under the High-Performance Computing Modernization Program Integrated Technical Services Contract II (HITS-U II) directly supports the DoW’s High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) mission. We deliver world-class commercial, high-end, high-performance computational capabilities to the Department of Defense's (DoD’s) Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) community at the DoD Supercomputing Resource Centers (DSRCs). Currently we are seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support systems across the program. This is a 100% virtual position with the possibility of very little travel (less than 10%). A successful candidate should be customer service oriented, attentive to detail, self-motivated and work well in teams. Flexibility in approach to finding solutions, the ability to understand and act on the customer needs and priorities and learn new technologies quickly. You will also need to be willing to respond to occasional off-hours outages and take part in subsequent service restoration efforts. The selected system administrator will work with a team of engineers to review and define configurations, create automation scripts to deploy and configure network assets, review, and deploy software applications, and provide support for testing, demonstration, and technical interchange meetings to include troubleshooting, patching, hardening, and configuration management.
