About The Position

Navico Group, a division of Brunswick, is seeking a System Support Technical Specialist to join their Technical Support team. This role involves providing expert technical advice to customers (OEMs, manufacturers, technicians, consumers), improving product reliability and serviceability, and creating/maintaining service information. The specialist will diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with Navico Group Connect/Integrated systems in marine, RV, and other vehicles, interpret fault codes, and develop repair processes. They will also answer escalated technical questions, document all interactions, and collaborate with internal teams (quality, engineering, manufacturing, product management) to address emerging issues. Additional responsibilities include supporting other initiatives like field visits, audits, training, and providing specific training for OEM service teams.

Requirements

  • Proven advanced troubleshooting skills and experience/ability to work through conflict and use effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Problem solving and analysis; interpersonal relations; verbal and written communications; organization and leadership.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, schematics, operation and maintenance manuals in English.
  • Team player with good organizational skill and time management.
  • Comfortable in a lab to be able to setup and test a problem the customer might be having.
  • Excellent communication skills (active listening, writing, speaking & telephone).
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with the team and customers.
  • Capability to read and understand technical documentation and vessel specifications.
  • Knowledge of and experience with marine and/or mobile AC electrical systems and marine and/or mobile DC electrical systems.
  • 5+ years of technical experience on mobile equipment.
  • Experience with Navico Group products.
  • Electrical or Electronic experience on mobile equipment.
  • Technical, Customer or dealership experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • ABYC / RVIA Electrical Certification preferred.
  • NMEA Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues regarding Navico Group Connect/Integrated systems on marine, RV and other vehicles.
  • Diagnose systems using electronic test equipment.
  • Interpretation of fault codes.
  • Adjustments and setting for hydraulic, electrical and application performance.
  • Development of processes related to equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Answer escalated technical questions from internal and external NAVICO GROUP customers.
  • Document all technical questions and data into the contact management system.
  • Create new and improve upon current technical documents.
  • Identify emerging product or application issues and deliver this information to quality, engineering, manufacturing and product management.
  • Maintain relationships with other internal teams including, quality, product management, engineering and manufacturing.
  • Support other Support Services initiatives as needed including field visits, periodic audits and training.
  • Provide “Project Brief” handoff and additional training to associated Service teams.
  • Support of PPC committee through Rapid Response Team.
  • Provide OEM service specific trainings in relation to Navico Connect projects.
