About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a System Support Engineer for its Intelligence practice, focusing on transportation technology projects. This role involves assisting public and private entities in planning, designing, procuring, deploying, and utilizing technologies for tolling, traffic operations, traveler information, transit, and other transportation functions. Projects include electronic payment systems, ITS for incident detection and traffic management, data analysis, and mobile applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Transportation/Civil Engineering with a focus on systems design.
  • 0–5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work in the United States for business purposes.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and electronics, preferably within Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with other engineering disciplines, software development and service delivery teams, project managers, and clients.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Gather system requirements and collaborate with client teams and internal software development and service delivery teams.
  • Prepare project deliverables such as technical memos, design documents, project plans, testing documents, reports, schedules, and engineering cost estimates.
  • Install, configure, test, and commission electronic devices, IT equipment, and software.
  • Perform onsite activities including client workshops, overseeing subcontractor device installation, formal testing, and support.
  • Support Arcadis-delivered systems for North American clients through reactive maintenance.
  • Monitor system performance, status, and accuracy for preventative maintenance.
  • Produce monthly and other regular reports and participate in/lead client meetings.
  • Ensure system cybersecurity requirements are met.
  • Coordinate project activities, take responsibility for tasks and deliverables, and collaborate with colleagues and subject matter experts.
  • Assist with proposal preparation for new work.
  • Support Project Management activities such as scheduling, progress reporting, budget estimates/updates, and client liaison.
  • Travel to project locations for client-facing assignments may be required.
