About The Position

As our System Security Administrator, you’ll take the lead on managing and securing the backbone of eStruxture’s IT infrastructure. In this high-impact role, you’ll own the complete technology stack—from servers to virtualization—ensuring 24/7/365 operational excellence. You’ll act as a critical point of contact for internal customers, providing professional communication while relentlessly hardening our systems against attack and maintaining a posture of total readiness. This role is a great fit for someone with a solid technical background with knowledge of cybersecurity, good organizational skills, and a proactive mindset.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in an IT related or service provider role with a strong background in cybersecurity.
  • Strong experience administrating and with patch management for Windows and Linux servers.
  • Hands-on experience working with VMWare and Hyper-V environments
  • Experience working with Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Familiarity with security monitoring concepts and technologies (e.g., SIEM).
  • Basic understanding of network security principles (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS).
  • Demonstratable understanding of IT systems administration and light networking principles.
  • Basic network experience including switching, WiFi, DHCP, and DNS required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communicator—both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable working independently and within a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in or with a SOC environment and similar security service providers.
  • Exposure to security platforms and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Proficiency with specific security tools and platforms used to remediate vulenerabilities.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Quest KACE system management appliance (SMA).
  • VMWare Certified Associate and/or related Hyper-V certification
  • Any relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, CySA+, SSCP) are a plus.
  • Experience with VMware/vSphere, Microsoft and Linux server environments.
  • Understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST CSF).
  • Automation and scripting for server maintenance and patching.

Responsibilities

  • Administration: Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure, including virtual machines, hypervisors (VMware/Hyper-V), and guest applications.
  • Incident Response: Respond to escalated support requests and investigate service degradations or outages to ensure 100% operational continuity.
  • Monitoring & Backups: Proactively monitor IT systems for performance improvements and ensure all data is backed up and tested according to disaster recovery policies.
  • On-Site & On-Call: Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation and travel to data center sites as required to deploy hardware or support onsite resources.
  • Work closely with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to analyze, identify, and remediate system vulnerabilities.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute regular patching for Windows and Linux servers to mitigate emerging threats.
  • Develop and implement technical remediation plans to harden IT infrastructure against cyberattacks.
  • Track the progress of security projects, providing regular status updates to leadership and leading periodic security meetings with stakeholders.
  • Assist in drafting and implementing security policies, standards, and procedures to align with industry best practices.
  • Participate in compliance activities, including security assessments, regular IT testing (DR), and supporting external security audits.
  • Assist the SOC with security alerts and incident analysis, contributing to the refinement of monitoring rules and processes.
  • Create and maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, incident response plans, and vulnerability management workflows.
  • Act as a backup for internal IT end-user support and provide coaching/training to junior IT Support Analysts.
  • Other related duties/tasks may be assigned as organizational needs arise.
