About The Position

NY Fire Detection, Inc. is seeking a full-time System Sales Executive to cover the NYC territory. The ideal candidate will have 7-12+ years of quota-carrying sales experience, with a minimum of 5 years in outside, hunter-style roles. This role involves closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals and requires a strong understanding of technical specifications, codes, and integration details. The Sales Executive will be responsible for positioning NY Fire as a problem-solving partner, ensuring proposal accuracy, and maintaining customer satisfaction. Key competencies include accountability, technical understanding, consultative selling, attention to detail, professional communication, organization, persistence, professionalism, collaboration, and continuous learning. The ideal candidate is competitive, driven, comfortable in ambiguity, thrives in growth environments, and can endure long sales cycles.

Requirements

  • Owns proposal accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Reads drawings and specifications fluently; understands system requirements, code implications, and integration details.

  • Reviews all documents carefully before award; no missing inclusions or exclusions.
  • Communicates professionally, directly, and clearly with internal teams and external partners.
  • Manages multiple bids, deadlines, and relationships without losing control of priorities.
  • Proactively follows up on every opportunity until a decision is made.
  • Represents NY Fire’s reputation through appearance, responsiveness, and reliability.
  • Works cohesively with Estimating, Engineering, and Operations—no silos, no surprises.
  • Stays current on codes, manufacturers, and design practices to enhance proposal quality and customer trust.

Benefits

  • Uncapped commission
  • Base salary of $75-85k
  • OTE $160-200k+
