About The Position

We're looking for a System Safety Engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly, effectively, and safely. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our engineering teams. We’re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems. Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software and systems development experience
• Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication
• 3+ years experience in system safety engineering in the aerospace, automotive, or robotics industries
• Experience in analysis of safety critical systems
• Experience working with requirements management and safety analysis tools (CAFTA, Medini, and similar)
• Demonstrated statistical analysis and reliability engineering fundamentals
• Proficient working with cross functional teams to drive analysis of complex systems
• Knowledgeable in systems engineering fundamentals, including system decomposition, requirements verification & validation, and ICD definition

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ARP-4761/4754, ISO26262, MIL-STD-882B, or similar system safety processes.
• Experience developing FHAs, Fault Trees, Reliability Predictions, FMEAs, SSAs, CCAs.
• Experience performing safety analyses in one or more of the following: Image based perception systems, aerospace systems, vehicle management, flight controls, cloud-based software intensive systems, aircraft traffic management.

Responsibilities

• Own the completion of safety analyses for one or more Prime Air systems
• Help define the future of safety assessment processes and methodologies for drone aerial systems.
• Partner with talented cross functional teams to integrate design safety directly into the system development process.
