The System Safety Engineer - Vehicle Integration will support the Safety and Mission Assurances Support Services (SMASS) contract located at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama. This role involves providing system safety engineering support to Space Launch System (SLS) Program integration activities, identifying and analyzing potential hazards associated with integrated vehicle interfaces and mission events. The engineer will classify risks, present findings to management and risk authorities, and prepare/assess System Safety Program Plans to ensure compliance with safety requirements. This position also requires participation in trade studies, development and maintenance of safety analyses and products, assessment of proposed changes to documentation and configurations, and evaluation of non-compliance reports and waiver requests. Additionally, the role supports reliability and safety analyses, tracks closure of review comments and action items, assesses verification plans and requirements, and evaluates test and operating procedures for safety compliance. The engineer will also develop and present status reports to management and provide input for contract deliverables.
