We are currently hiring for System Safety Engineer II. This is an onsite role and can be located in Woburn, Tewksbury, Marlborough, Andover or Portsmouth RI.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with risk assessment concepts
  • Experience with creating technical reports, technical writing and/or creating presentations
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Active/transferable DoD security clearance
  • Experience with test equipment & test equipment safety, in a laboratory setting
  • Experience performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400)
  • Experience reviewing software code and requirements for safety considerations
  • Experience interfacing with other engineering functions: Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Execute the safety strategy for the program to meet all its milestones with system safety/HSI features integrated into the product in compliance with contract and awarded funding
  • Support the program schedule and integrated system safety tasks and activities into program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
  • Engage the Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead for guidance on technical execution, artifact review, attending customer reviews, etc.
  • Support multi-IPT program meetings to ensure that system safety items are considered and to understand current program-wide issues
  • Ensure program leadership understands system safety requirements, hazards, and planned mitigations
  • Meet internal and external commitments (deliveries)
  • Own technical solutions and collaborate across IPTs to realize the solution that makes the overall product development and test successful
