About The Position

Inova Nursing Professional Development is seeking an RN Clinical Educator to oversee System Nursing Orientation and student placement. This role will be the primary facilitator for RN Orientation for newly hired RNs and will partner with administrative staff to manage student RN clinical placements within the system. Inova Nursing's Professional Development (INPD) supports all nursing personnel with educational needs, including initial orientation and onboarding. Specialty onboarding courses are provided to novice nurses or advanced beginners transitioning to a new specialty area, utilizing a blended learning approach that includes classroom instruction, simulation, and online modules.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master’s program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master’s program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date, submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses, and complete Masters within 3 years of start date.
  • 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
  • BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.

  • Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.
  • Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.
