About The Position

Peraton is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer (SE) to support the planning and management of activities related to upgrading a government customer’s legacy processing systems to a modern cloud architecture. These legacy applications are critical for a high-priority national indications and warning mission, making the program tactically important to U.S. national security. The role involves assessing existing requirements and applications, determining necessary tools and services for emerging requirements, and developing an updated architecture and design for new applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud architectures, systems engineering functions including requirements documentation and development, and the ability to recommend solutions through analysis of alternatives. Responsibilities also include managing the portfolio’s master schedule, breaking down requirements into actionable and testable elements, drafting statements of work, and monitoring development and integration efforts.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED plus twenty-four (24) years of general systems engineering experience
  • OR A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus twenty (20) years of systems engineering experience
  • OR A Master’s degree or PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience.
  • Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

  • Experience with AWS system deployment strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Support planning for and managing activities related to the government customer’s legacy processing systems upgrade to a modern cloud architecture.
  • Assess existing requirements and applications.
  • Determine tools and services needed to meet emerging requirements.
  • Support the development of an updated architecture and design for new applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Understand cloud architectures and systems engineering functions connected to requirements documentation and development.
  • Recommend solutions, including performing analysis of alternative solutions.
  • Manage and coordinate the portfolio’s master schedule.
  • Deconstruct requirements into actionable and testable elements.
  • Draft statements of work describing customer’s desired outcome for funded activities.
  • Monitor the customer’s development and integration efforts against requirements.
