About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a System Integration Test Engineer in Palmdale, CA for a short-term contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. The System Integration Test Engineer will support system integration testing in a hardware-in-the-loop lab environment. This role includes breaking down requirements, developing test cases, manually testing software-intensive systems, documenting test results, creating anomaly reports, supporting failure mode testing, and helping develop automated test coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 16+ years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 14+ years of relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of experience integrating and/or testing software-intensive systems in a Hardware-in-the-Loop system integration lab.
  • 5+ years of experience with one or more tracking tools, including JIRA, GitLab, or GitHub.
  • 5+ years of experience with Eggplant, Cucumber, or Python.
  • 5+ years of experience with Omniview and Mission Planning CONOPS.
  • Experience breaking down requirements and developing test cases.
  • Experience manually testing systems and documenting test results.
  • Experience creating anomaly reports for issues found during testing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with software counterparts in a lab environment.
  • Ability to develop failure mode testing for assigned capabilities.
  • Ability to help develop automated tests.
  • Ability to develop and communicate long-term hardware integration strategies.
  • Ability to work onsite in Palmdale, CA.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Support system integration testing for assigned capabilities.
  • Break down requirements into testable elements.
  • Develop test cases to validate requirements.
  • Manually test software-intensive systems in a HWIL lab.
  • Record test results in a test log tool.
  • Create anomaly reports for issues identified during testing.
  • Work with software counterparts to write and troubleshoot anomaly reports.
  • Develop failure mode testing for assigned capabilities.
  • Support test automation efforts or assist automation teams with automated test development.
  • Communicate hardware integration strategies and technical status to the team.
