System Integration Technician (Bend, OR)
About The Position
CrowdStrike is seeking an experienced Engineer I to join our Systems Integration team. In an effort to reduce the threat of hardware assets being compromised: the Systems Integration Facility is responsible for the sanitization and burn-in of computer equipment prior to the distribution to our Data Centers and POPs. The ideal candidate should have a background working in a data center or integration facility operation, have an understanding of hardware concepts and is motivated to learn in our fast-paced environment. This role will be focused on our incoming quality control and full rack integration efforts.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience preferred with direct experience managing servers and/or data centers to support business goals.
- Familiar with copper and optical cabling.
- Understand power cabling.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lb.
- Familiar with command line interfaces.
- Familiar with server, storage, internet technologies.
- Ability to communicate technical detail into succinct and fact-based business terminology both verbally and in writing.
- Customer-focused mindset, with demonstrated skill in managing expectations and providing proactive status updates.
- Ability to use independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions and take action to solve problems.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble equipment using manufacturing documentation and engineering specifications.
- Utilize appropriate tools to install, configure and test equipment and components.
- Perform hardware inspection according to the company’s security inspection procedures.
- Perform packaging and shipping of tested and/or integrated equipment.
- Examine and test equipment at various stages in order to identify errors.
- Install hardware into test stands and integrate into production server cabinets.
- Advise Material Handlers to pick up and deliver equipment for testing and integration as needed.
- Escalate issues to Facility Manager as needed.
- Documenting process and procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
